Now, this is a story all about how my life got flipped, turned upside down and I'd like to take a minute so just sit right there and I'll tell you how I became the ROOFER of a town called Bel Air...
My life actually did get flipped upside down but all kidding aside, here we go...
I've always believed even as a teenager that my word is my bond. I believe a hand shake should be all we need but unfortunately we live in a world now of contracts and mealy-mouths! I tell my son all the time, "All we truly have is our word!". I've been with my wife for 23 years and we have an amazing teenager with special needs. He truly lights up the world! Countless strangers have commented on his smile! Enough of that. Back to business and why you're reading this...
Having been mechanically inclined since I was a little kid just out of diapers I would always tinker and fix stuff. I've enjoyed working with my hands my whole life. As a teenager I got into construction and cars. At 19 I was a finish carpenter and then became a mechanic. At 22 I "built" my first car. At that time loved modding and racing cars. By 24 I had a short stint racing motorcycles, which I loved more than cars. Two weeks before my pro debut I had a serious crash and that dream never got realized.
Just before my 25th birthday I transitioned from the manual labor world to the sales world and quickly, to my surprise, became a top producer in various (automotive, power sports, HVAC and roofing) industries and even setting multiple sales records. By 27, I was leading a sales team of about 20 personnel. I found that sales was a strength of mine, primarily in relationship building. I enjoy building relationships and learning from the people I meet. To me, that's the best part of sales, relationships!
I entered the home services industry in 2016 and now for the better part of 10 years I've been a part of this industry. I was asked a question at a dealership about 15 years ago, "How do you sell so well and tell the truth?". My answer was simple, I tell the truth! Once I got into the home services industry I discovered so many contractors including some 4 & 5 ⭐️ rated large companies were unscrupulous, lacked integrity and would even cut corners that the home owner never knew about costing the homeowner more money later.
I actually left a company that I was the top producer for making a great income for my family because as time went on I learned that they were, to some degree, operating like this. Even though I was doing quite well financially my integrity, honesty and moral compass wouldn't allow me to operate under those conditions even though again, the homeowner had no clue. I just can't stomach making a profit on someone else's hard earned money without giving them the absolute best craftsmanship I could offer. Again, we believe in people over profit. I work hard for my money and that's my approach to your money. To be a good steward!
Throughout this 20 year journey I did have the privilege of working for two fantastic companies (HVAC & Roofing) with awesome, honest owners operating them. Even when I refer someone to a client I have to make sure they operate to my standards or I won't refer them because to me that's still my name on the line and I hold that in high regard!
Thank you for taking a few minutes to read this and we look forward to serving you!
